Allah says in the Quran:
"And establish prayer for My remembrance" (20:14),
"Indeed, the believers who are successful are those who are humble in their prayers" (23:1-2),
"...and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater..." (29:45)
From these verses, we understand that Namaz should remind us of Allah, make us humble, and keep us away from immorality and wrongdoing. However, the reality often differs. While standing in prayer, our minds wander to business, jobs, farming, family issues, and daily life concerns. How humble are we truly before the Almighty, the Most Honored, and the Most Dignified Allah? Millions of Muslims perform their five daily prayers, yet many engage in acts considered immoral and unjust in Islam, such as usury, lying, cursing, and backbiting. Why does this happen?
It's because we do not know what we are reciting during our prayers, in our Quran recitations, in our prostrations, bows, and sittings! As a result, Namaz becomes a mere ritual, performed without understanding. Is this the model of an educated nation? It is crucial to know what you are reciting in your prayers today.
"Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to that of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in any way." [Sahih Muslim: 2678]
