Ryan Reynolds in Early Talks for Deadpool and X-Men Film
May 05,2025Author: Logan
Ryan Reynolds is reportedly in the early stages of developing a new film that would bring Deadpool together with the X-Men, although nothing has been officially pitched to Marvel yet. According to THR, Reynolds envisions this as an ensemble movie where Deadpool shares the spotlight with three or four other X-Men characters. Interestingly, Reynolds is said to want these characters to take center stage, allowing them to be "used in unexpected ways." This project would be distinct from the X-Men movie being developed by Hunger Games writer Michael Lesslie, and it appears to follow a similar creative trajectory as the film Deadpool & Wolverine. Reynolds is known for meticulously crafting his ideas before presenting them to Marvel, a process he also used for what eventually became Deadpool & Wolverine, initially conceived as a low-budget road trip movie.
This isn't the first time we've heard about Reynolds working on an ensemble movie featuring Deadpool, but this latest development sheds more light on the potential adventures the Merc With a Mouth might embark on. As for which X-Men might join Deadpool, it remains a mystery. However, Deadpool has a history of teaming up with various X-Men and their adversaries in previous films, including characters like Wolverine, Colossus, Sabertooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit.
