La bande-annonce présente de nouveaux membres de la distribution tels que Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (Bad Bunny), Sadie et Sunny Sandler et Blake Clark. Il présente également un clin d'œil ludique aux squarepants SpongeBob au départ. Netflix a confirmé l'implication de plusieurs golfeurs professionnels dans le film, notamment John Daly, Paige Spiranac, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson Dechambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas et Will Zalatoris, avec un camée de la star de la NFL Travis Kelce.

Pour rafraîchir votre mémoire, voici le récapitulatif officiel de Netflix de l'original Happy Gilmore :

À la fin du Happy Gilmore original, le personnage titulaire de Sandler a finalement été au repos après une longue saison de golf et une bagarre à knockdown avec le prix est Bob Barker de Right ). En mission de collecter suffisamment d'argent pour payer l'IRS pour les années de taxes de dos délinquantes de sa grand-mère (OOPS), le joueur de hockey raté a pris ses compétences sur la route en tant que joueur de golf le plus peu orthodoxe que le championnat Tour ait jamais vu.

On ne sait actuellement pas comment le film ressuscitera la carrière de golf de Gilmore, mais une chose est sûre: dans le monde réel, du moins, Happy Gilmore est une légende. Même les meilleurs golfeurs du monde sont d'accord.

Nous avons d'abord appris que Happy Gilmore 2 était en développement en mars 2024, et Netflix a officiellement commandé la suite en mai. Le film est réalisé par Kyle Newacheck et scénarisé par Adam Sandler et Tim Herlihy.
