Ariana Grande sera la star de 'Meet the Parents 4'

Ariana Grande élargit sa carrière d'actrice en décrochant un rôle principal dans le quatrième volet à venir de la franchise "Meet the Parents", aux côtés de Ben Stiller et Robert De Niro.

La nouvelle de la participation de Grande provient de The Hollywood Reporter, qui révèle que la pop star devenue actrice dans Wicked rejoindra la dernière suite comique. Universal Pictures réunira les familles Focker et Byrnes le 25 novembre 2026.

Stiller et De Niro ont tous deux officiellement signé pour reprendre leurs rôles de beaux-parents notoirement incompatibles pour la quatrième fois. Selon les sources de THR, Blythe Danner et Teri Polo, qui ont joué dans les trois premiers films, devraient faire leur retour et sont actuellement en négociations. Bien que la plupart des détails de l'intrigue restent secrets, l'une des intrigues connues se concentrera sur le fils de Polo et Stiller, qui "se fiance à une femme à la forte volonté qui semble totalement ne pas lui convenir". Des initiés confirment que Grande incarnera la fiancée.

Derrière la caméra, "Meet the Parents 4" sera écrit et réalisé par le vétéran de la série John Hamburg. Jay Roach, qui a réalisé la trilogie originale, s'est joint au projet en tant que producteur aux côtés de Robert De Niro et Jane Rosenthal via Tribeca Productions. Ben Stiller produit également avec John Lesher via Red Hour Films, tandis que Hamburg produira via Particular Pictures. Les cadres d'Universal, Matt Reilly et Jacqueline Garell, superviseront la production pour le studio.

Grande est principalement célébrée pour sa carrière musicale, ayant sorti sept albums studio acclamés par la critique. Son projet le plus récent est l'album de 2024 "Eternal Sunshine", un disque de 13 titres sorti avant son rôle secondaire dans l'adaptation musicale de "Wicked", qui a été présentée en première à l'automne dernier. Le film a reçu des éloges généralisés de la part des critiques et du public, valant à Grande une nomination aux Oscars pour son interprétation de Galinda / Glinda. Elle reprendra le rôle dans la suite, Wicked: For Good, dont la sortie est prévue le 21 novembre 2025.
