Atelier Resleriana Shuts Down in Late March

May 03,2025 Author: Brooklyn

Koei Tecmo has officially announced the end-of-service for Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator just a year after its global launch. The closure is set for March 28th, with in-game purchases stopping on January 27th. In the lead-up to the shutdown, the developers have planned several events to help players enjoy the remaining time with the game.

The decision to end the service comes after the developers admitted they could no longer maintain the standards they initially set. Despite continuous efforts to improve and organize events, they found it unfeasible to continue operations. Players can still use their Lodestar Gems for various activities until the service ends, although new purchases are now disabled.

For many fans of Atelier Resleriana, this news may not be entirely unexpected. The gacha gaming market is intensely competitive, with numerous titles fighting for player attention. Atelier Resleriana introduced some innovative concepts but faced challenges that hindered its success. Issues such as criticized gacha and banner rates left players feeling frustrated with their progression. Additionally, the alchemy mechanics, a hallmark of the Atelier series, did not capture the creative essence fans expected, and the gameplay, while functional, lacked the engagement needed to stand out among other genre leaders.

Atelier Resleriana

From the start, Atelier Resleriana faced significant challenges, and in retrospect, its struggles were evident. Social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit have seen an influx of players requesting an offline version, though this seems unlikely to materialize. If you've enjoyed this turn-based RPG, make sure to savor these final months before the game's adventure concludes.
