Supercell Seeks Talent for Clash of Clans Film and TV Projects

Apr 08,2025 Author: Dylan

Could Clash of Clans, or another major Supercell property, be making its way to the big screen? It's more likely than you might think. The Finnish mobile game developer, Supercell, has recently started the search for a senior film and TV development executive, hinting at a potential move into the world of movies, much like Rovio did with Angry Birds back in 2016.

While the job description doesn't suggest an immediate jump into film production, it does call for the development of a strategy for both live-action and animated films, as well as theatrical and streaming distribution. In business terms, this indicates a more strategic, watch-and-wait approach. However, it's reasonable to speculate that Supercell might already be sketching out preliminary plans for how they could bring their properties to the screen.

Clash for the agesSupercell has been pushing boundaries with their game catalog, venturing into crossovers and collaborations, such as their partnership with WWE. This trend suggests that moving into film and animation could be a natural next step for the developer.

It's worth noting that the highly successful Angry Birds movie was released seven years after the game's initial launch. Despite the time that has passed since Clash of Clans was first released, it still boasts a significant audience. Additionally, Supercell has newer IPs like Mo.co, which could be tailored for a more family-friendly cinematic release.

We'll have to keep an eye on how this unfolds. In the meantime, if you're looking for something to keep you entertained, why not explore our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week?
