Community suggestions ranged widely, including a Smash TV remake and various Star Fox-inspired concepts. Pilestedt confirmed that a Smash TV remake has been internally considered and hinted at a Star Fox-esque title within the "rail game" genre.
While specifics remain undisclosed, Arrowhead's engagement with the community is evident. The remarkable success of Helldivers 2, a standout title of 2024, sets a high benchmark for their next endeavor.
A recent, substantial update to Helldivers 2 has boosted player numbers significantly on PS5. The "Omens of Tyranny" expansion, surprise-released at the 2024 Game Awards, has been well-received. This update introduced the highly anticipated Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps. Coupled with rumors of a Killzone crossover, Helldivers 2 appears poised for continued success in 2025.
