Facing the Viper, a high-ranking dragonkin created by Hismar to lead defeated dragons and sow chaos, requires careful strategy and preparation. Phase 1

Before entering the battle, ensure your skills are optimized for your chosen weapon. Summon the Spirit of Advocacy just outside the boss gates for additional support. When facing the Viper, be vigilant for the following attacks:

• A three-hit combo starting with two stabs followed by a spear swing.
• A two-hit spear-swinging combo from left to right.
• A large sweep followed by a leap away, with the spear being thrown up to two times.
• A four-hit combo involving a spinning spear and swipes in both directions.

To effectively combat the Viper, time your blocks and aim for Perfect Guards to quickly deplete its stamina. Keep up the pressure with continuous attacks and utilize Brutal Attacks whenever possible. When it roars, brace for two wide-ranging arm attacks followed by a Burst Attack; use Counterattack to stun it and create an opportunity for damage.

Once the Viper's health reaches the halfway mark, it summons a storm that dims the arena. During lightning flashes, the Viper will leap towards you multiple times, ending with a charge and an uppercut. Parry or dodge these attacks, and use its aggressive behavior to your advantage. Be cautious of its new leaping slam and adjust your positioning accordingly.

Monitor your stamina closely to avoid exhaustion and vulnerability during the Viper's sustained combos. Successfully defeating the Viper will reward you with over 10,000 Lacrima, Hismar's Scale, several Fallen Lord items, and the Hunter's Ring.
