For sports fans, ESPN is a familiar name. But ESPN+, its streaming service launched in 2018, still leaves some wondering what it offers. While ESPN+ *does* stream live sports, it's best understood as a supplement to traditional ESPN channels, filling in gaps and providing exclusive content.
This comprehensive guide covers ESPN+ in 2025, including service details, live sports, pricing, and more.
ESPN+ is a subscription streaming service offering live sporting events, exclusive ESPN films and series (unavailable on standard ESPN channels), premium articles, and more. Subscribe standalone or as part of the Disney Bundle (Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu).
Important Note: ESPN+ does not include access to standard ESPN channels like ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNEWS. You'll need a cable or live TV subscription for those.
However, ESPN+ boasts a growing library of original programming, including shows like Man in the Arena with Tom Brady, Peyton's Places, and ESPN FC. Since 2019, it's been the exclusive streaming home for NFL Primetime, offering Sunday night highlights and analysis. The entire 30 For 30 documentary series is also available.
For sports news enthusiasts, ESPN+ Premium Articles provide in-depth analysis, rankings, mock drafts, and more from top ESPN writers.
Includes all three services for $16.99 at Disney+.
ESPN+ is available as a standalone monthly subscription for $11.99 or an annual plan for $119.99 (15% savings). A bundled option with ads on Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ is also available for $16.99 per month.
Currently, ESPN+ does not offer a free trial. While promotions may be offered by third parties, check the ESPN website for updates.
ESPN+ doesn't offer traditional channels. Instead, it features live sporting events, a vast archive of past events, and exclusive on-demand ESPN shows and series.
Yes! ESPN+ streams thousands of live sporting events, including select NFL, MLB, and NHL games, various international soccer leagues, F1, golf, boxing, and many collegiate sports. Availability depends on location and may be subject to regional blackouts.
ESPN+ is the exclusive streaming home for UFC, including PPV fights (additional $79.99), Fight Nights, and a large archive of past fights.
Note: ESPN+ is not a replacement for services like NFL Sunday Ticket or MLB.TV; most games aren't included. However, it's a strong option for UFC, NHL, soccer, and college sports fans.
ESPN+ is available in HD on various devices, supporting up to three simultaneous streams. The Disney Bundle allows access through the Disney+ app (in the US). It's also accessible via the ESPN app, Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Google Chromecast, select smart TVs, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
