Remedy has exciting news for fans of the Control universe, announcing the release date for their latest venture, FBC: Firebreak, set for June 17, 2025. This session-based, multiplayer PvE game promises a thrilling experience with its replayable missions, known as Jobs, each offering unique challenges, objectives, and environments that demand teamwork and adaptability from players.
FBC: Firebreak will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Players can also enjoy it day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). Notably, this marks Remedy's first self-published title.
Alongside the standard edition, Remedy unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This edition offers a range of exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for just $10 / €10 / £7. The Deluxe Edition includes:
- “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
- “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
- Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
- Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
- Golden Firebreak Spray
- Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets
Remedy has introduced a new system called Requisitions, which rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing the game. These Requisitions can include weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more, all unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. Importantly, there are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; every item added to the game will always be available.
For those seeking further customization, Classified Requisitions provide premium cosmetic items such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. These are purchased with real money, are purely cosmetic, have no impact on gameplay, and will remain available permanently.
Remedy has committed to ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch, with plans for two new Jobs coming in 2025 and more updates scheduled for 2026. All playable content released after launch, including Jobs, will be free to all players. While players can purchase cosmetics, these items will not affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins, Remedy assures.
This announcement comes at a busy time for Remedy, the developer behind Alan Wake, as they are also working on Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation.
