In a recent interview with GTAVIoclock, former Rockstar Games developer Ben Hinchliffe shared his perspective on the upcoming GTA 6. Hinchliffe, a contributor to several Rockstar titles including GTA 6, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and L.A. Noire, expressed his excitement about the game's evolution. He revealed access to significant portions of the game's content and storyline, highlighting the impressive progress made since his departure. He emphasized the substantial changes and refinements implemented since his involvement.Rockstar unveiled the official GTA 6 trailer last year, showcasing the protagonists, Vice City setting, and a glimpse into the crime-filled narrative. Scheduled for a Fall 2025 release exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, details have been scarce. However, Hinchliffe confirmed GTA 6 represents a significant leap forward for Rockstar, setting a new benchmark for the series.
He pointed to the consistent evolution of realism in Rockstar's games, stating that GTA 6 continues this trend, with more realistic character behaviors and interactions. "I think [Rockstar Games] has raised the bar again just like they always do," he commented.
Hinchliffe's comments suggest extensive post-production work, including bug fixing and performance optimization, has taken place since his departure three years ago.
Regarding fan reaction, Hinchliffe predicted an overwhelmingly positive response, emphasizing the game's stunning realism. He anticipates significant sales, echoing the success of previous installments. "It will blow people away. It will sell an absolute ton as it always does," he stated, expressing his enthusiasm for the game's release.
