Apr 12,2025 Author: Matthew

The highly anticipated sequel to the beloved dungeon crawler, *Hades*, is on its way. Supergiant Games released an early access version of *Hades II* in 2024, and fans are eager to know when they can expect the full game to launch and what insights the developers have shared about its release.

*Hades II* has been available in early access for PC players since May 6, 2024, through Steam and the Epic Games Store. macOS users joined the early access journey on October 16, 2024, with a significant content update. The most recent update for early access players arrived on February 19, 2025. Console players, however, will have to wait for the full launch to experience *Hades II*. The extended early access period allows Supergiant Games to gather valuable feedback, which will help refine the game before its official release.

Considering the feedback from the February 2025 update, a full launch for *Hades II* could be anticipated in Q2 2025, spanning from April to June. An April release seems unlikely, as it may not provide Supergiant Games with enough time to process and implement the latest feedback. A May 2025 release, marking a full year since the early access began, appears more feasible, allowing the developers sufficient time to incorporate necessary changes based on player input.

Even in its early access phase, *Hades II* is showing promising signs of being a worthy sequel that meets the high expectations set by its predecessor. The gaming community is eagerly awaiting the official release, expected sometime in 2025, with the exact date dependent on Supergiant Games' development plans and the additional polish they intend to apply. An official announcement regarding *Hades II*'s release date seems imminent.

Development on *Hades II* kicked off in early 2021, with the majority of the original game's production team and voice cast returning to work on the sequel. Throughout the development process, Supergiant Games has kept details about the full release under wraps, preferring to let players experience the game's progress through early access. The last significant press engagement occurred around the technical test and initial early access launch in April and May 2024, after which the team shifted focus back to development.

In interviews with outlets like Game Informer in May 2024, Supergiant Games expressed their intent to preserve the core elements that made the first game a success while introducing new characters and features, including the new protagonist, Melinoë. This approach aims to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging. As fans eagerly await the full release of *Hades II*, they look forward to diving back into the thrilling dungeon-crawling experience that made the original game a massive hit.
