Mask Around, the sequel to 2020's quirky roguelike platformer Mask Up, is here! This time, prepare for a blend of run-and-gun action and brawling mayhem. The iconic yellow ooze returns, but with some surprising new twists.
Longtime readers will remember our 2020 coverage of the bizarre Mask Up, where players evolved from a puddle of yellow goo into a… well, a buff pile of goo. Developer Rouli delivers more of that unique weirdness with Mask Around.
Unlike the original's 2D roguelike brawler style, Mask Around incorporates 2D shooting mechanics. You can seamlessly switch between gunning down enemies and using your goo-based abilities to smash your way through levels.
However, that precious yellow ooze remains a limited resource. Careful management of your ooze meter is crucial, especially during challenging boss battles.

We All Wear Masks
Mask Around is available now on Google Play. While there's no iOS release announced yet, this sequel appears to be a significant upgrade. It retains the core gameplay of Mask Up while adding substantial depth and polish, including improved graphics. The strategic use of both your ooze abilities and weaponry adds a new layer of challenge. It's no longer just about maintaining your ooze meter, but also about knowing when to use it wisely.
