Rifts are rarely good news in gaming, but Avid Games has embraced the chaos with Eerie Worlds, the highly anticipated sequel to Cards, the Universe and Everything. This tactical CCG retains the fun and educational elements of its predecessor, but shifts the focus to monsters – specifically, monsters emerging from rifts.
Avid Games has crafted a visually stunning array of monsters, each inspired by real-world mythological and folkloric horrors.
The game boasts an impressively diverse roster, encompassing creatures from various mythologies worldwide. Encounter Japanese Yokai like Jikininki and Kuchisake, Slavic monsters such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav, and a host of others including Bigfoot, Mothman, the Nandi Bear, El Chupacabra, and many more. Each card features detailed, well-researched descriptions, making the game both entertaining and educational.
Eerie Worlds features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes, adding significant strategic depth. Monsters may share some properties while differing in others, creating complex tactical possibilities.
Your monster collection, known as your Grimoire, can be upgraded by merging duplicate cards. The game launches with 160 base cards, with many more unlockable through merging, and additional cards planned for the near future.
Avid Games has announced two new Hordes arriving within the next few months, ensuring Eerie Worlds offers lasting replayability.
Gameplay involves constructing a deck of nine monster cards and one world card, engaging in nine 30-second turns filled with strategic choices regarding mana management, synergy exploitation, and more.
Prepare for a challenging yet rewarding experience. Eerie Worlds is available now for free on the Google Play Store and the App Store – click here to download.
