Path of Exile 2's Endgame: Mastering the Delirium Encounter
Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) offers four major endgame events: Rituals, Breaches, Expeditions, and Delirium. This guide focuses on Delirium, a returning mechanic from the original PoE, detailing how to initiate events, navigate the encounter, utilize the passive skill tree, and reap the rewards.
Understanding the Delirium Fog Mechanic

On the Atlas, map nodes guaranteeing Delirium events are marked with a distinctive white and black icon resembling the Delirium Mirror. To ensure a Delirium event, place a Delirium Precursor Tablet in a Lost Tower.
Within a Delirium map, locate the multicolored, shattered-glass Delirium Mirror near your starting point. Approaching it triggers a ghostly energy effect. Activating the mirror initiates the encounter, enveloping you in a expanding circle of Delirium Fog.
The Fog's radius expands, increasing enemy difficulty. Exiting the Fog ends the encounter and resets the map. Enemies within the Fog are stronger, dropping unique Delirium rewards: Distilled Emotions (used in crafting) and Simulacrum Splinters (for summoning the Pinnacle Boss). Fractured Mirrors within the Fog spawn additional mobs and loot.
Random boss encounters with Kosis and Omniphobia can occur; these are full-fledged bosses, not just rare enemies. They may also appear during the Pinnacle event.
The Simulacrum Pinnacle Event
Each endgame event provides materials for summoning a Pinnacle Boss. High-tier Waystones in Delirium yield Simulacrum Splinters. Accumulate 300 splinters to create a Simulacrum for the Realmgate.
Activating the Simulacrum initiates a challenging 15-wave encounter, with increasing difficulty. Delirium bosses have a higher chance of spawning in later waves. Completing the Simulacrum awards two Delirium Passive points.
Navigating the Delirium Passive Skill Tree

The Delirium Passive Skill Tree, located within the Atlas Passive Skill Tree (top-left button on the Atlas Map, then top-right), modifies the Delirium encounter. It's identifiable by its white coloration and mirror shape.
The tree includes eight Notable nodes and eight nodes increasing Simulacrum difficulty. Each Simulacrum completion grants two passive points, necessitating increased difficulty for each new Notable node.

Delirium Rewards

Delirium Fog-affected enemies drop Distilled Emotions. Bosses also frequently drop them. These currencies anoint amulets with Notable Passive Skills, eliminating the need for passive point investment.
Distilled Emotions can also modify Waystones, adding a Delirious debuff percentage for increased mob numbers and power. Simulacrum Splinters, also dropped by enemies, combine to create a Simulacrum for the Realmgate, leading to a unique 15-wave event with guaranteed Unique equipment and Delirium Passive points.
All PoE 2 Distilled Emotions:
Distilled Envy
Distilled Fear
Distilled Isolation
Mastering the Delirium encounter requires understanding its mechanics and strategically utilizing the passive skill tree to maximize rewards.
