YouTuber Bought 720 Poke Gold in Pokemon TCG Pocket Daily

Japanese YouTuber Hajimesyacho, known for his diverse content ranging from product reviews to vlogs, took to Twitter (X) to share his monumental achievement in Pokémon TCG Pocket. On January 19, 2025, he revealed that he had collected 50,000 cards by consistently purchasing the daily limit of 720 Poké Gold since the game's launch on October 30, 2024.
This dedication translates to a daily expenditure of approximately $100, resulting in a total investment of around $8,500 over the 85 days the game has been live. This calculation does not account for any special sales events during the global launch and holiday season. Hajimesyacho's commitment has allowed him to gather cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, as well as time-exclusive promo cards.
The latest card added to the game is the Trainer card named Pokedex, which allows players to view the top three cards of their deck. This card was introduced to celebrate the global collection of 40 billion cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
McDonald’s X Pokemon Happy Meals Collab

On January 21, 2025, the Pokémon Company announced a thrilling collaboration with McDonald's, introducing exclusive Pokémon-themed Happy Meal boxes. These boxes contain collectible physical cards from the Pokémon TCG Pocket series, including 15 unique cards such as Miraidon, Roaring Moon, and Rayquaza. Seven of these cards are "holo" or "foil" cards, featuring a glossy and reflective finish.
In addition to the physical cards, Pokémon TCG Pocket players can redeem 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses. These can be used to open booster packs and select a single card from the Wonder Pick feature.

The collaboration offers four variants of Pokémon Happy Meal boxes, each showcasing popular dragon-type Pokémon like Charizard, Rayquaza, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite alongside Pikachu. Fans can visit participating McDonald's locations to get these exclusive items, available until supplies last. Remember, the Pokémon TCG Pocket rewards expire on March 31, 2025, so be sure to redeem them before the deadline.
Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Upcoming Trade Feature

On January 17, 2025, Pokémon TCG Pocket shared more details about its upcoming trade feature via Twitter (X). Trades will be limited to friends and require cards of the same rarity. Cards ranging from 1-4 diamonds and 1-star rarity are eligible for trading, while rarer cards such as Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, and Crown Rares are excluded. An item will be consumed during each trade, similar to the Stardust cost in Pokémon GO.

Currently, cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs are available for trade. The Pokémon TCG Pocket team has committed to expanding the card selection in future updates, stating, "We’ll continue to monitor player feedback and assess future updates to the trade feature while keeping in mind how to balance both the ease and enjoyability of collecting."
Additionally, a new booster pack is set to be released this January, though the exact date remains undisclosed.
