With Borderlands 4 launching this September, developer Gearbox is offering free SHiFT codes that unlock 3 golden keys for any Borderlands game. Here's everything you need to know about this limited-time giveaway!
Borderlands players are getting a special treat - Gearbox has released a new SHiFT code granting three Golden or Skeleton Keys per game. As announced by CEO Randy Pitchford on X (formerly Twitter), this generous offer comes with his signature "Good luck, and happy looting!" message.
The active code is: SRFTJ-Z9BR3-3J3TJ-JT3JT-RS6C5 - redeemable either in-game or on Gearbox's SHiFT website until March 27th at 10 AM EDT / 7 AM PDT. This works across multiple Borderlands games:
Best of all? The same code works for every game, meaning you can potentially score 15 keys total - three for each title!
This giveaway isn't just random generosity - Gearbox frequently releases SHiFT codes during special events and upcoming releases. With Borderlands 4 launching on September 23rd, 2025 (following its Gamescom announcement), this could be part of the buildup.
