The Open Alpha will showcase the game's crossplay functionality and introduce a thrilling new mode: 24-player Multi-Team Portal Warfare. This massive mode pits three teams of eight against each other on Splitgate's largest map yet. Expect new weapons, perks, and equipment to experiment with alongside the classic, chaotic gameplay.
While new character classes (or factions) with unique abilities are planned, the core of the experience remains the innovative portal mechanics. Developer 1047 Games emphasizes that player feedback has heavily influenced the game's development, aiming to create a landmark FPS experience.
