Crafted by the visionary Kazuma Kaneko, famous for his distinctive style in the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, this game promises an immersive experience. Developed by the Japanese game studio COLOPL, where Kaneko joined in 2023, "Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter" showcases his signature surreal world-building and demonic aesthetics.
In "Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter," players are under the watchful eye of an artificial deity that reacts to their gameplay decisions with dynamically generated cards. The game's innovative AI, dubbed AI Kaneko, was personally trained by Kaneko himself and drives the Okami System. This system introduces a false god, Okami, who observes your actions during dungeon exploration and crafts new cards in real-time, tailored to your playing style.
Set within the towering Hashira complex in Tokyo's bayside area, the game transforms this once futuristic building into a monster-infested labyrinth. Your objective is to ascend to the top of the tower and confront Noriko Tomi, the president of the construction company responsible for The Hashira. As a member of the elite national defense unit Tsukuyomi, your mission is to thwart her plans to overthrow the state using hidden jujutsu traps.
The game introduces two new characters: Izayoi Tsukuyomi and Shingetsu Tsukuyomi. Izayoi focuses on a traditional approach, enhancing attack and defense through upgraded cards. Notable Jinma cards for Izayoi include Seiryu, Finn MacCool, Mormo, and Watanabe Tsuna. In contrast, Shingetsu employs chain attacks, building complex strategies with cards like Mach, Kirin, Kato Danzou, and Suzuka Gozen. Future updates will bring two additional characters, Mangetsu and Hangetsu, to the roster.
