Nonograms Katana: Sharpen your mind!

Nonograms, also known as Hanjie, Griddlers, Picross, Japanese Crosswords, Japanese Puzzles, Pic-a-Pix, "Paint by numbers" and other names, are engaging picture logic puzzles. In these puzzles, players color or leave blank cells in a grid based on numbers provided at the grid's edges, revealing a hidden image. These numbers serve as a form of discrete tomography, indicating the count of unbroken lines of filled squares in each row or column. For instance, a clue like "4 8 3" suggests sequences of four, eight, and three filled squares, separated by at least one blank cell.

Solving a nonogram requires determining which cells should be filled (boxes) and which should remain empty (spaces). Both aspects are crucial, as spaces guide the placement of clues later on. Solvers often mark certain spaces with a dot or a cross to signify their confidence in those cells being empty.

A key rule in solving nonograms is to avoid guessing. Only cells that can be logically deduced should be filled, as a single error can ruin the entire solution.
