Application Description
Enhancing the walking and orientation skills of visually impaired children is crucial for their independence and confidence. Our innovative app, developed in collaboration with Safe Toddles, a dedicated nonprofit organization, offers a comprehensive series of lessons aimed at achieving this goal. For more in-depth information about our mission and other resources, please visit https://www.safetoddles.org.
The curriculum is centered around the Pediatric Belt Cane, an innovative product designed by Safe Toddles to assist visually impaired children in navigating their environment safely. This cane is not just a tool but a gateway to a world of learning and growth.
Through our app, users can access a variety of lessons, each tailored to specific developmental stages. These lessons include engaging activities that are designed to be both educational and fun, ensuring that children remain motivated throughout their learning journey. After completing each lesson, users are encouraged to provide feedback via assessment questionnaires, which helps us refine and personalize the learning experience.
A key feature of our app is its integration with a wearable IMU sensor, which is attached to the Pediatric Belt Cane. This sensor collects valuable data on the child's movements and transmits it to the app. Our advanced AI module then analyzes this data to assess the developmental age of the student, providing insights that are crucial for customizing the learning path.
Based on these periodic assessments, the app dynamically generates a personalized set of lessons that align with the individual needs of each student. This ensures that every child receives the most effective and relevant training to enhance their walking and orientation skills.
