Sueca is an exciting point-trick card game beloved in Portuguese-speaking communities worldwide

Sueca ranks among Portugal's most cherished card games, with enthusiastic followings in Brazil, Angola, Macau, Mozambique, Nagasaki, and Goa. This strategic four-player game partners participants in teams of two.

Gameplay Essentials

The challenge lies in claiming tricks to accumulate points. Players use a specialized 40-card deck (removing 8s, 9s, and 10s from standard decks). Card hierarchy follows: Ace (highest), 7, King, Jack, Queen, then 6 down to 2 (lowest). Scoring values make Aces (11 points) and 7s (10 points, called "manilha") particularly valuable, followed by Kings (4), Jacks (3), and Queens (2).

Victorious tricks deliver their cumulative point values to the winning team. Remember - trump suit cards automatically triumph!

Game Variations
