Leaks Excite Battlefield Fans; EA Yet to Respond

Despite efforts to keep details under wraps by requiring players to sign NDAs, EA's upcoming untitled Battlefield game has leaked online, with numerous videos and screenshots surfacing. These leaks showcase the activities of participants in the game's closed playtesting.

As previously reported, the leaked footage appears to confirm the "modern" setting teased by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from other entries in the series. Browsing the Battlefield subreddit reveals a plethora of firefights, destructible environments, and new gameplay mechanics such as the ability to hang off vehicles and drag wounded teammates to safety.

Surprisingly, EA has taken a notably lenient approach to these leaks. Unlike most publishers who are quick to issue takedowns to protect early footage from showing incomplete elements, EA has not moved to remove the leaked content, despite players violating their NDAs.

This relaxed stance might be influenced by the positive reception the leaks have received, in contrast to the lukewarm response to Battlefield 2042. Enthusiastic comments from fans on the subreddit highlight their excitement:

  • "I am scared to say that but this game is shaping up very damn well. I hope there are no catches…" one player said.
  • "The animations of the weapons moving around while running / doing anything look better than 2042 to me," another added.
  • "Dude, even in a pre-alpha state, the explosions, bullets, and projectiles whizzing by, buildings crumbling down, dust kicking up. This has so much potential!" a third exclaimed.
  • "I can't get over how good the sounds and the destruction look at alpha," someone else opined.

EA anticipates launching the next Battlefield game within the fiscal year 2026, which spans from April 2025 to March 2026. Following the first official unveiling last month, it was announced that the game will feature a return to a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a move that has been warmly received by fans who missed this element in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.
