People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta

Apr 03,2025 Author: Leo

People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and a co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring a new game to life, codenamed Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, this project is set to be developed as a work-for-hire game, though specifics about the game remain under wraps.

The studio is bustling with activity, juggling multiple projects with intriguing codenames. Alongside Project Delta, they're working on Project Gemini in collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw a reduction of 30 developers last year. There's also Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red, which appears to be another venture with Sony, and the VR-focused Project Bison, which was recently announced as their final foray into virtual reality.

In a series of adjustments to their project lineup, People Can Fly announced the suspension of Project Victoria last December and scaled down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they made the tough decision to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was being developed in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains committed to an impressive slate of eight projects. This includes the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date for this title has yet to be disclosed. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release, keeping fans on the edge of their seats for what's to come from this prolific studio.
