Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: A Dog-Friendly Adventure

MachineGames, the developers behind Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, have confirmed a heartwarming detail: players will not be able to harm dogs in the upcoming game. This decision marks a significant departure from the studio's previous work, such as the Wolfenstein series, which often featured animal combat.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: No Harm to Dogs

"Indiana Jones is a dog person," stated MachineGames Creative Director Jens Andersson in an interview with IGN. While the game retains the series' characteristic action and adventure, the developers have prioritized a family-friendly approach, ensuring that interactions with canine companions remain non-violent.

Andersson explained, "It’s a family-friendly IP in many ways. We have dogs as encounters, but you won't inflict harm. You'll scare them off." This commitment to animal welfare sets a positive precedent within the action-adventure genre.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: Setting

Set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle follows Indy as he pursues stolen artifacts. His journey takes him across diverse locations, from the Vatican to the Egyptian pyramids and even the submerged temples of Sukhothai. While Indy’s whip remains a crucial tool for traversal and combat against human enemies, dog lovers can rest assured their furry friends will remain safe.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launches December 9th on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a PS5 release slated for Spring 2025. For further insights into the game's mechanics, be sure to explore our related articles.
