Application Description

Mancala games, a beloved family of two-player strategy board games, have captivated players across cultures for centuries. Rooted in simple yet tactical gameplay, these games involve moving seeds or stones across a board with pits or houses. The ultimate goal is often to gather the most seeds in your store while strategically limiting your opponent's options. Among the many variations, Kalah, Oware, and Congkak stand out as popular choices.

In Kalah, players begin with four (or more) seeds in each house. On their turn, a player picks up all the seeds from one house, sows them counter-clockwise, and captures seeds based on specific conditions. If the last seed lands in the player's store, they earn another turn. The game concludes when one side runs out of seeds, and the remaining seeds are transferred to the opponent's store.

Oware follows similar principles but introduces capturing mechanics where seeds are seized when the last sown seed results in an opponent's house containing exactly two or three seeds. This can trigger a chain reaction of captures. If the opponent has no seeds left, the active player must make a move that provides seeds to the opponent. The game ends when one player surpasses half the total seeds or when both players reach an even split.
