If you were around in the mid-2010s, you probably remember the quirky survival horror game, *Bendy and the Ink Machine*, which took the world by storm. With its episodic format, rubber hose-style enemies and environments, and an intriguing storyline, it became extremely popular. Now, the franchise is set to return, including on mobile, with *Bendy: Lone Wolf*.
*Bendy: Lone Wolf* was unveiled with a reveal trailer (linked below) showcasing plenty of gameplay in a top-down, isometric style. You seemingly play as Boris the Wolf, one of the many cartoon characters brought to life by the titular Ink Machine, as he navigates the dangers of Joey Drew Studios.
The original *Bendy and the Ink Machine* is already available on mobile, alongside the spin-off *Nightmare Run* and *Boris and the Dark Survival*. *Lone Wolf* appears to take many elements from *Dark Survival*, though it's not yet clear whether it's a definitive version or a fresh take on the concept.
**Inked off** In either case, *Bendy and the Ink Machine* has remained an extremely popular franchise over the years since its initial release. It is widely recognized as part of the first major wave of mascot horror games, alongside the iconic *Five Nights at Freddy's*.
The success of *Bendy: Lone Wolf* will likely hinge on its execution. While this isn't the first time the Bendy series has ventured into isometric survival horror starring Boris the Wolf, its release on platforms like Steam and Switch suggests that it may build upon the lessons learned from its mobile predecessors to deliver an even more terrifying experience.
