Treyarch Unveils "The Tomb," a New Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, in 115 Day Celebration

Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map: The Tomb. This annual January 15th event brings a comprehensive blog post detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises.

The star of the show is The Tomb, a desert-themed Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This follows Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, adding another chapter to the Zombies universe in less than two weeks.

The narrative follows Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya as they investigate an excavation site based on Gabriel Krafft's final instructions, seeking the Sentinel Artifact. The site, ancient catacombs dating back to 2500 B.C.E., holds secrets that run far deeper than anticipated. While the connection to British archeologist Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe is teased, further details remain shrouded in mystery.

Gameplay-wise, The Tomb promises a similar experience to Liberty Falls, featuring compact play areas designed for high replayability and numerous Easter eggs. Treyarch also hints at a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by past titles and the return of a classic SMG.

Season 2 also includes significant quality-of-life improvements, addressing community requests. These include tracking up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer, a co-op pause feature for Zombies, and the ability to rejoin Zombies matches with your loadout. Separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will also be implemented.

To mark 115 Day, players can enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double XP for players, weapons, and the battle pass until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared impressive statistics for Directed Mode, revealing over 480 million hours played. The team notes that Directed Mode has more than doubled the average Main Quest completion rate, from 3.38% to 8.23%.

The impact of last month's voice actor recast due to the SAG-AFTRA strike will be particularly noticeable with the release of The Tomb.

For those diving into Zombies mode, essential tips and tricks, along with an exfiltration guide, are available. Detailed guides covering Easter eggs and secrets in Terminus and Liberty Falls, including Pack-a-Punch strategies and the Meteor Easter egg, are also readily accessible.
