Gearbox has officially announced the release date for the much-anticipated Borderlands 4. During the latest State of Play event, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford revealed that fans can mark their calendars for September 23, 2025. To celebrate this exciting news, Gearbox released a captivating new trailer that showcases several innovative gameplay features set to be introduced in the game.
The trailer spotlighted the addition of a grappling hook, promising new ways to navigate the chaotic worlds of Borderlands 4. However, true to the series' roots, fans can still expect an abundance of outlandish guns, explosive action, and the signature mayhem that defines the franchise.
In addition to the trailer, Gearbox announced a special Borderlands 4-themed State of Play event scheduled for this spring. This event will offer an in-depth look at new gameplay mechanics and introduce a plethora of new firearms to the series.
While we eagerly await more detailed story information, the lead writer hinted that the previous installment might have leaned too heavily on "toilet humor." It remains to be seen whether Borderlands 4 will adopt a more serious narrative approach.
