Gearbox CEO Hints at a New Borderlands Game and the Upcoming Movie
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has hinted at a new Borderlands game, generating significant excitement among fans. He recently stated, "I don't think I've done a good enough job of hiding the fact that we're working on something… And I think people that love Borderlands are going to be very excited about what we're working on." He further teased a potential announcement before the year's end, adding that his team is working on "big things" and multiple projects.
While specifics remain under wraps, Pitchford's comments suggest a significant development. The last major release, Borderlands 3 (2019), was critically acclaimed for its story, humor, characters, and gameplay. The 2022 spin-off, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, further demonstrated the franchise's enduring appeal.
This news coincides with the upcoming Borderlands movie premiere on August 9, 2024. The film, directed by Eli Roth and starring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, promises to bring the vibrant world of Pandora to the big screen, potentially expanding the franchise's reach and lore.
The anticipation for a new Borderlands game is high, fueled by Pitchford's cryptic yet enthusiastic remarks. The combination of a new game announcement and the movie release promises a significant year for Borderlands fans.
