Hazelight Studios continues to distinguish itself in the gaming world with its unique approach to cooperative play. One standout feature is their innovative Friend’s Pass system, where only one player needs to purchase the game, yet two can enjoy the experience together. This model, though not widely adopted by other developers, has allowed Hazelight to carve out a distinctive niche in the industry. A notable limitation in their earlier titles was the absence of crossplay, a feature that seemed a perfect match for their co-op focused games.
Excitingly, Hazelight has addressed this gap with their upcoming title, Split Fiction, confirming that crossplay will indeed be available. The Friend’s Pass system returns, allowing one purchased copy to facilitate gameplay for two players, with the requirement that both have an EA account.
To further engage potential players, Hazelight has also announced a demo version of Split Fiction. This demo not only offers a taste of what’s to come but also allows players to carry over their progress to the full game, enhancing the value of the trial experience.
Split Fiction is set to immerse players in a diverse array of settings, yet it will maintain a focus on the exploration of simple yet profound human relationships. The game is slated for release on March 6 and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, promising a fresh and engaging cooperative gaming experience.
