The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a unique pricing strategy, differing between Japan and the rest of the world. This new gaming console will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system exclusive to Japan, and a Multi-Language System available globally. The Japanese version is set to retail at approximately $330, while the Multi-Language System will cost $449.99, a difference of over $100. This pricing variation is largely due to the weaker yen against the USD, which makes purchasing in Japan less attractive for tourists.
Residents in Japan have the option to purchase the Multi-Language System, but the Japanese-language version will be exclusively available in Japan. Only Nintendo Accounts registered with Japan as the Country/Region can link to this version, which supports only the Japanese language and offers software exclusively from the Japanese Nintendo eShop.
For those interested in using the Switch 2 in languages other than Japanese, Nintendo recommends opting for the Multi-Language System version. More detailed information about this version will be released on April 4.
