Halfbrick Studios, a pioneer in early mobile gaming, is set to launch Jetpack Joyride Racing on mobile devices this June. Known for captivating players with classics like Jetpack Joyride, Halfbrick is now expanding its universe with a thrilling kart racing spinoff.
Scheduled for release on June 20th, Jetpack Joyride Racing lets you race as the beloved protagonist Barry Steakfries and other iconic Halfbrick characters. Each character will pilot their own themed kart, vying for supremacy on the racetrack.
Excitingly, Halfbrick Studios has opened signups for a closed beta. If you're eager to get a head start, head over to the official Halfbrick Studios Discord to join the beta testing. Pre-registration is also open for those wanting to secure their spot ahead of the game's full release.
While Jetpack Joyride Racing maintains the casual and engaging nature of its predecessor, it also introduces deeper mechanical complexity to appeal to hardcore kart racing enthusiasts. One might wonder why these iconic characters are transitioning from jetpacks to karts. However, the inclusion of karts opens up new racing dynamics, while the jetpack theme could still be integrated through unique in-game mechanics or power-ups.
Despite this minor curiosity, Jetpack Joyride Racing is poised to be a delightful addition to the Jetpack Joyride franchise, continuing its legacy as a staple in mobile gaming. Keep an eye on Halfbrick Plus for more exciting updates and future releases on their subscription gaming service.
