Wizards of the Coast maintains such a brisk release schedule for its enduring trading card game, Magic: The Gathering, that a new set is always just around the corner.
While the upcoming Final Fantasy collaboration is highly anticipated, fans seeking a 'Universes Within' experience after the acclaimed Tarkir Dragonstorm won't have a long wait, even though Edge of Eternities promises a stark contrast in theme.

Here is everything we currently know about Magic: The Gathering: Edge of Eternities.
What is MTG Edge of Eternities?

This year, Wizards of the Coast is heavily investing in its Universes Beyond initiative. Following Final Fantasy, the first of three major crossovers this year, the schedule includes Spider-Man and concludes with Avatar: The Last Airbender.
In contrast, Edge of Eternities provides an original Magic experience with a cosmic theme, set within the game's own multiverse (though it is positioned between the Final Fantasy and Spider-Man releases).
While only concept art has been shared so far, the set is confirmed to initiate the concluding chapter of the Metronome storyline, which started with Wilds of Eldraine.
Play Boosters

Play Boosters are now the standard pack type, having replaced both Set Boosters and Draft Boosters.
These 15-card packs are designed for limited formats like draft and sealed. The final slot typically contains a marketing card, art card, or token. Cards 1 through 6 are common, and card 7 is a common slot that may include a reprint.
Slots 8, 9, and 10 contain uncommon cards. The 11th card is dedicated to a rare or mythic rare. Card 12 is a land slot, which can feature foil or full-art treatments, and card 13 is a wildcard from the set.
A guaranteed foil card occupies the 14th slot, increasing the opportunities for players to acquire sought-after cards. Play Boosters can be purchased individually or in a booster box.
Collector Boosters

Collector Boosters are a premium, higher-priced product containing 16 cards (one of which is typically a token).
Each pack guarantees five rare or mythic rare cards, alongside four uncommons, five commons, and one land card.
These packs emphasize premium treatments, with 12 to 13 of the cards featuring special frame designs and foil finishes.
They are sold as single packs or in a dedicated booster box, reflecting their premium cost.

Commander is Magic's most popular format, celebrated for its multiplayer "last player standing" gameplay and ready-to-play 100-card decks that are ideal for newcomers.
The number of accompanying Commander decks has varied with recent sets. Aetherdrift featured two, Tarkir: Dragonstorm offered five, and Final Fantasy includes four.
Edge of Eternities scales back to two distinct decks: World Shaper and Counter Intelligence.
The World Shaper deck utilizes Black, Red, and Green (Jund) and focuses on mechanics involving land sacrifice and powerful recursion.
The Counter Intelligence deck, in Blue, Red, and White (Jeskai), enables players to enhance artifacts and proliferate various types of counters.
