Exciting news for Call of Duty Warzone fans: the beloved Verdansk map is set to make its much-anticipated return on March 10, 2025. Activision had previously announced in August that Verdansk would be coming back, but only hinted at a "spring 2025" timeframe without a specific date. Now, a pop-up on the Call of Duty shop has revealed a countdown to March 10, 2025, signaling the imminent return of this iconic map (thanks to InsiderGaming for the heads-up).
The pop-up features a tri-color sketch depicting an alpine scene complete with snow, pine trees, a dam, and a crashed plane—elements that will be instantly recognizable to anyone who has explored Warzone's original sandbox. This map was replaced by Verdansk '84 in Season 3 and then completely overtaken by Caldera in 2021. Currently, the only way to revisit Verdansk is through Call of Duty Warzone Mobile.
This news will be a thrilling development for fans who were disheartened by the 2021 announcement that "current-day Verdansk is gone and it's not coming back." The return of Verdansk promises to reignite the excitement and nostalgia that the map brought to the Warzone community.
In other Call of Duty news, Black Ops 6 Season 2 is now live, bringing with it five new Multiplayer maps: Bounty, Dealership, Lifeline, Bullet, and Grind. The season also reintroduces the fan-favorite Gun Game mode, along with new weapons and operators. Don't miss out on the exciting, albeit pricey, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover event.
Meanwhile, Warzone has seen less new content than initially planned. The development team is currently focused on addressing critical issues, including gameplay tuning, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements, to enhance the overall player experience.
