This strategy aims to introduce a new hero every 45 days, resulting in eight new heroes per year—a pace that significantly exceeds that of competitor Overwatch 2, which releases three new heroes annually.

However, the concern among fans centers on the short development cycles and the need for thorough playtesting and balancing, given the complexity of integrating new heroes with 37 existing heroes and approximately 100 abilities. There's also the risk of running out of fresh ideas for hero abilities.
