Marvel Rivals Dev Promises a New Hero Every Month and a Half

NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals players: a new hero will launch every month and a half, coinciding with the release of new seasons.

Creative director Guangyun Chen revealed this ambitious plan in an interview with Metro. He confirmed that each three-month season will be split into two halves, each introducing a new playable character. This translates to at least one new hero every six weeks. Chen stated, “Every season we’ll be rolling out fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We’ll actually be breaking down each season into two halves…And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero. We just eventually want to continue to enhance the experience, and, you know, keep everyone excited in our community.”

This rapid release schedule leaves fans eagerly anticipating each new addition. Season 1: Eternal Night Falls already showcased this commitment, launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second. While these iconic characters provide a strong foundation, maintaining this momentum with equally compelling heroes will be a significant challenge.

Marvel Rivals launched with a diverse roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. However, the Marvel universe boasts countless other potential characters. Rumors suggest Blade for Season 2, and fans are hoping to see Daredevil, Deadpool, and more X-Men in the future. NetEase's approach to expanding the roster remains unclear, but the game's initial success indicates a commitment to continued growth.

Season 1 also included significant balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more promised in future updates.
