Robert Downey Jr. and the Russo brothers are bringing Doctor Doom back! Marvel's upcoming storyline, "One World Under Doom," promises a prolonged era of Doom's rule, akin to "Dark Reign," rather than a short-lived event. This means Doom's reign as World Emperor and Sorcerer Supreme will dominate much of 2025, even leading the Superior Avengers.
Predictably, the Superior Avengers will feature villains, but with a twist. Familiar names will be associated with new characters:
- Abomination: Kristoff, Doom's adopted son and Reed Richards' half-brother.
- Dr. Octopus: A new, unnamed woman.
- Ghost: A nameless woman, referencing Ant-Man.
- Killmonger: A reimagined version.
- Malekith: The Black Elves remain on Earth.
- Onslaught: A significant addition.
The six-issue Superior Avengers series, launching in April, will be written by Steve Fox and illustrated by Luca Maresca.

This isn't a novel concept. Previous Marvel storylines, such as "Dark Avengers" and "Secret Empire," featured villainous replacements for the Avengers.
But how did Doom achieve this level of power? This guide explores the key events leading to "One World Under Doom":
Emperor Doom: While not the origin of Doom's global dominance, the 1987 graphic novel by David Michelinie and Bob Hall showcases Doom's rule over a single world, a powerful concept.

President Doom 2099: In Warren Ellis and Pat Broderick's Doom 2099, a future Doom nearly conquers America, showcasing his ambition and ideology.

Secret Wars (2015): Jonathan Hickman's Secret Wars highlights Doom's relentless pursuit of power and immortality, even manipulating events to his advantage.

Blood Hunt (2024): Jed McKay and Pepe Larraz's Blood Hunt is crucial. Doctor Strange enlists Doom to combat a vampire invasion, inadvertently granting Doom the title of Sorcerer Supreme.

With the Russo/Downey Jr. team developing the concept further, the stage is set for Doom's unprecedented reign.
