Nintendo Switch 2 Image Reveals C Button on Joy-Con

Nintendo has officially confirmed that the mysterious new button on the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con is indeed the C button, putting an end to the swirling rumors. This confirmation came through the newly released Nintendo Today! app, where a close look at the app's promotional images on the App Store and Google Play clearly shows the letter "C" on the button.
The C button was first revealed alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this year, but initial images of the new Joy-Con did not feature any letter on the button. However, prior reports had already hinted at it being called the "C" button, and those rumors have now been validated.
Speculation about the function of the C button is rampant. Some believe it could be related to wirelessly "casting" the Switch 2 to a TV or enabling screen sharing. Others speculate it might switch the Joy-Con's functionality, such as into a mouse mode. There's also talk about it possibly being linked to new group or voice chat features.
Nintendo has scheduled a Switch 2 Direct for April 2, where we hope to learn more about this intriguing new feature. Until then, here's what we know for certain:
Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch in 2025, likely not before June, based on the hands-on event schedule.
The new console is larger than its predecessor, featuring larger Joy-Con that appear capable of functioning as a mouse.
It includes two USB-C ports, one at the top and one at the bottom, unlike the original Switch which had only one.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is backward compatible, with the reveal video confirming it can play both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games, as well as Switch 2 exclusive titles. However, some Nintendo Switch games may not be fully compatible.
