Nintendo's highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been unveiled, though full details remain under wraps until a dedicated Nintendo Direct presentation. A brief teaser trailer confirmed the new console's existence alongside a new Mario Kart title, and concluded with the announcement of a Nintendo Direct scheduled for April 2nd, 2025.
"The Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 will air on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, providing a comprehensive look at the Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to the Nintendo Switch, launching in 2025," Nintendo stated on its official website. Specific broadcast times will be revealed later on the website and social media platforms.

While scant on specifics, the announcement showcased the console's design and redesigned Joy-Con controllers. As numerous leaks indicated, the Switch 2 boasts a larger form factor and enhanced specifications compared to its predecessor.
Following the Nintendo Direct reveal, Nintendo will host several fan events globally. North American events are slated for New York (April 4-6), Los Angeles (April 11-13), Dallas (April 25-27), and Toronto (April 25-27).
European events will be held in Paris (April 4-6), London (April 11-13), Milan (April 25-27), Berlin (April 25-27), Madrid (May 9-11), and Amsterdam (May 9-11). Additional events are planned for Melbourne (May 10-11), Tokyo (April 26-27), Seoul (May 31-June 1), and Hong Kong/Taipei at a later date.
