This guide covers the Trial of the Sekhemas, a challenging but rewarding endgame activity in Path of Exile 2. Inspired by the Sanctum from the original game, it offers significant loot potential. While not a main quest component, it's crucial for early progression and provides valuable rewards for those who conquer it.

Unlocking the Trial of the Sekhemas

To begin, you must defeat Balbala the Traitor, a formidable boss located within Traitor's Passage in Act 2. Her swift, powerful attacks pose a significant early-game challenge. Victory yields Balbala's Barya, the key to accessing the Trial.
After defeating Balbala, travel to the Trial's location via the Ardura travel map or Waypoint. You'll find a dilapidated temple where Balbala awaits, not as a foe, but as a guide. Place Balbala's Barya on the Relic Altar to commence your Trial of the Sekhemas run.
