Get ready to celebrate the New Year in Pokémon GO! From December 30th to January 1st, 2025, a special New Year's event brings themed bonuses, unique Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in 2025 with style. This follows the December 21st-22nd Community Day event featuring returning Community Day Pokémon.
This New Year's event offers a fantastic opportunity to earn 2,025 XP for each Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw. Enjoy festive fireworks and immersive New Year decorations as you explore!
Expect increased appearances of special Pokémon: Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat will be more common, with a chance to encounter their Shiny forms.
Raids are also festive! One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids include party-hat-donning Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates are boosted for all three.
Complete Field Research and Timed Research tasks for extra encounters. A $2 Paid Timed Research offers exclusive rewards: three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and event Pokémon encounters.
