PUBG Mobile has achieved a Guinness World Record, though not for the reason you might expect.
This milestone is part of the hybrid Friend Fest event, running until February 16th.

PUBG Mobile, the mobile version of the popular battle royale game, has unveiled its latest major event: Friend Fest. This hybrid celebration runs until February 16th and features a mix of real-world and in-game activities, including a recent world record achievement.
On January 25th, PUBG Mobile helped organize the new Guinness World Record for Most Pairs Performing a Choreographed Handshake (Multiple Venues), marking the official start of Friend Fest. Participants joined from Turkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
Within the game, players can strengthen friendships by gifting floral arrangements to teammates or exploring Bonding Tree Checkpoints located across the Erangel and Livik maps. The Fated Dance Bouquet and Surprise Bouquet both include unique one-time items usable in matches to give your chosen teammate a strategic advantage.
Guinness World Records are often a childhood dream, but as we grow older, reality sets in—just like Santa or the idea of perfect justice. In this case, it’s worth noting that record holders don’t show up for free. While this doesn’t diminish Krafton’s accomplishment, it’s not purely accidental that this record was broken.
Although romance might not be on the menu in PUBG Mobile, showing appreciation to a fellow player with a quick one-off boost isn’t a bad idea. With real-world events taking place globally to celebrate Friend Fest, it’s definitely worth checking to see what’s happening nearby.
