Pokémon TCG Pocket's Trading Feature Launches, Alongside Space-Time Smackdown Expansion
Pokémon TCG Pocket players have a double reason to celebrate as January ends! The highly anticipated trading feature has finally arrived, launching alongside the major new Space-Time Smackdown expansion.
The trading feature allows players to exchange cards with friends, mirroring the real-world experience. However, there are limitations. Only certain card rarities (1-4 and 1-star) are tradeable, and trading requires resources like trade hourglasses and tokens. Despite these restrictions, it's a significant addition to the game.
Space-Time Smackdown introduces iconic Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia to TCG Pocket, along with the Sinnoh region starters: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, and much more!

Initial player reaction to the trading feature has been mixed, with some expressing disappointment. While the feature itself is a welcome addition, the numerous restrictions have been a point of contention. Many feel the game would have benefited from either a completely unrestricted trading system or no trading feature at all. However, developers have indicated they are monitoring player feedback and may implement changes in the future.
