If you've been longing for a return to Tony Hawk's Underground, you're not alone — Tony Hawk himself is "campaigning" for a remake as well.
"I always have aspirations," Hawk shared with ScreenRant. "It's not up to me generally. I'll campaign all I can, but I'm working with a much bigger company that's a lot smarter than me."
When questioned about Activision's plans following the release of Pro Skater 3 + 4, Hawk remained tight-lipped, stating, "We haven't even released this game [yet]!"
Tony Hawk's Underground, released in 2003, earned an impressive 9.2 review score from us at the time. It was praised for its "virtually flawless" level design and "stellar gameplay." The game was groundbreaking as it allowed players to explore expansive levels on foot for the first time in the series.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is slated to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One on July 11, 2025. Activision is curating the official THPS 3 + 4 playlist on Spotify, which will be updated as more of the song list is revealed. You can find out the latest in our full soundtrack list right here.
"In an era where many games from the early 2000s are being given modern makeovers, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is poised to be a valuable addition to a year packed with top-notch remakes and remasters," we noted in IGN's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 first impressions preview.
"From its faithful recreation of the elements that made the PS2-era classics so memorable, to its modern quality-of-life enhancements, excellent soundtrack, and overall homage to the series' early days, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is definitely something you should keep on your radar if you're a fan of skateboarding, enjoy action sports games, or simply want to play something that's straightforward and enjoyable. It might just be the easiest kickflip you'll land this year."
