In Season 8, players will not just be battling monsters; they'll be constructing aerial empires in the new Cloud Oasis. This feature allows players to engage in resource trading, worker assignments, and managing production lines to fortify their sky-based strongholds. It's a fresh take on the traditional ARPG grind, offering a strategic layer to the gameplay.
Thea, a fan-favorite character, returns with a revamped trait called Blasphemer. This new mechanic trades her divine abilities for a curse named Desecration, which may start off weak but grows increasingly powerful. It scales Erosion damage inversely with her remaining blessing power, opening up new build possibilities centered around area-of-effect explosions and health-scaling effects. This is perfect for players who enjoy damage-over-time mechanics and intricate build synergies.
The endgame content in Deep Space has been significantly enhanced with five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. Players can now adjust the level of risk and reward with the new Probes system, which increases the challenge but offers the chance for better loot, including Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
Season 8 also introduces a Blending System for crafting belts, enabling players to fuse Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot. This system allows for deeper customization and more diverse build options. Additionally, a new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown, adding another layer of challenge to the game.
To celebrate the launch, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. Players can participate in various tasks to earn Gold Rush Attempts and have a chance to win from a $250,000 prize pool.
