Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) plunges players into the Hollows, Ether-corrupted zones teeming with monsters. New Eridu's innovative approach to Ether exploitation has spurred a scramble for resources among government bodies, corporations, and even gangs. This competitive landscape has given rise to Hollow Raiders, individuals seeking fortune within the perilous Hollows.
ZZZ's playable characters are all skilled Hollow Raiders, possessing exceptional Ether Aptitudes. Players (Proxies) can forge alliances with Agents from diverse backgrounds – Hollow Raiders, construction firms, private organizations, and government security personnel.
Initially, character roles were defined by Attack Type, but HoYoverse has since refined the system to incorporate distinct Specialties. While Attack Types remain visible in character stats, Specialties provide a clearer understanding of each Agent's function.
