Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessory Collection

Sony has announced a stylish new Midnight Black Collection for PlayStation 5, adding a touch of dark elegance to its gaming peripherals. The collection includes the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld remote player, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds.

All items boast a sophisticated black finish. The DualSense Edge controller, PlayStation Portal, and Pulse Explore earbuds are priced at $199.99 each, while the Pulse Elite headset is slightly more affordable at $149.99. Pre-orders begin January 16th, 2025, with a full launch on February 20th, 2025, exclusively through direct.playstation.com.

This release follows Sony's previous color variations for its controllers and accessories, expanding options for players who prefer a darker aesthetic. The collection's timely announcement coincides with the excitement surrounding CES 2025, further fueling anticipation among gamers.

The new Midnight Black DualSense Edge controller, in particular, offers a modern upgrade to the original Midnight Black DualSense, even including a dedicated carrying case. While the Pulse Elite headset is pricier than its predecessor, the Pulse 3D wireless headset, it also features a carrying case, along with the Pulse Explore earbuds, both housed in a felt gray case.

Beyond the Midnight Black Collection, Sony continues to expand its accessory lineup with themed DualSense controllers, such as the recently released limited-edition Helldivers 2 controller.
