Confirmed: Marvel Rivals will be getting 2 heroes every 3 months

NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh and engaging through regular updates. The development team plans to release updates approximately every six weeks, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This ensures players consistently find new content upon returning to the game.

Game director Guangyun Chen revealed in an interview that each season's update is divided into two parts: one new hero in the first half, and another in the second. This approach maintains player and audience engagement. Beyond new heroes, updates will include new maps, storylines, and objectives. Previously announced characters include the upcoming Blade and Altron (revealed through leaks), with the Fantastic Four's full team also recently confirmed.

According to GameLook, a Chinese publication, Marvel Rivals has generated approximately $100 million globally, with a significant portion from the Chinese market. This marks a significant step for Marvel, a film industry giant, into the competitive gaming arena.

Marvel Rivals successfully addresses shortcomings experienced with Square Enix's Avengers, filling a void in the hero-shooter genre. NetEase's studio delivered a high-quality heroic shooter boasting a compelling roster of characters, receiving positive critical reception at launch.
