《死亡空间4》可能无限期推迟甚至永远不会问世。在接受Dan Allen Gaming YouTube频道采访时，《死亡空间》的创造者Glen Schofield与其他开发者Christopher Stone和Bret Robbins一起透露，《死亡空间4》已被搁置。
Stone提到他儿子最近玩了《死亡空间》，非常喜欢，甚至恳求他：“请告诉我你们正在制作另一款《死亡空间》游戏！”Stone只能苦笑回应：“我希望如此。”
